The Perception of Brazilians on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Low-Carbon Economy

O desenvolvimento sustentável é capaz de suprir as necessidades da geração atual, sem comprometer a capacidade de atender as futuras gerações. Ao longo de muitos anos, nosso planeta tem enfrentado problemas causados por sistemas de produção poluentes. A Economia de Baixo Carbono visa utilizar fontes renováveis de energia, gerando desenvolvimento sustentável e sendo uma solução para reduzir os danos ambientais. A ONU lançou a Agenda 2030, composta por 17 ODS. Ou seja, a sociedade civil, o governo e as empresas dos 193 países signatários devem, juntos, desenvolver ações sustentáveis para mitigar os problemas globais, sobretudo relacionados às mudanças climáticas. Este estudo utiliza uma metodologia quantitativa e descritiva, através de uma pesquisa (Survey) aplicada no estado do Rio Grande do Sul (RS), com o objetivo de analisar a importância dos ODS para a Economia de Baixo Carbono. Os resultados da pesquisa destacam importantes relações entre os 17 Objetivos do Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS) e a Economia de Baixo Carbono (EBC), conforme percebido pelos respondentes. Diante do exposto, as relações entre as variáveis observadas dos ODS na EBC apresentam intensidades de influência expressivas, ou seja, todos os ODS influenciam a EBC.
